SMOOTH ARRIVAL – EASY LIVING – SWIFT DEPARTURE

Dear Friends,

Summer is here!

As usual we are open throughout Sweden’s traditional vacation month in July. We are pleased to welcome clients, with a small mention that government bodies and most companies are if not closed on sceleton crew so things take a longer time to be completed.

Our business is truly international, not only do you bring the world to us, we visit the the world. We have attended both Totally Expat show in London in May and ERC training in Amsterdam in June.

We set ambitious goals for this year and in our Q2 review we see that we have more than doubled our target for growth this year and are on course with all our KPIs. This however, is just regular internal follow up, we don’t ever rest and our quality work is continous.

Our passion for our daily work and the finetuning of the processes to help our clients is what makes us tick.

The Newcomer’s Relocation Team hope that you too have a great summer!

With best regards,
Lena Rekdal
Founding Manager

Biometrics – immigration status update!

tumavtryck 2Since May 20th of this year the biometrics requirement for all non-EU work and residence application went into effect. In this first month we can conclude that – YES it works. The production facility has managed to process the residence cards in a timely fashion. Due to our methodology in handling the new challenges in the process we can see that while there are delays for first applications due to the new procedures, they are not as severe as we had anticipated.

Rental market – Stockholm update

portThe availability is slightly lower this year compared to last year this time. A lot of landlords are keen to sell their houses rather than rent them out. The real estate market for sales has slowed down and experience tells us that it benefits the rental market with a slight delay. Usually we get more properties for rent later in the season once a sale attempt has been completed without a sale.

Summer fun in Stockholm

This summer NK shows a unique exhibit in collaboration with Kosta Boda and Orrefors from Glasriket (the Kingdom of Crystal). Glass designers gather

Sweden’s foremost glass artists show their unique pieces and exciting new glass objects on the basis of the four elements. The pieces are displayed together with pictures from photographer Pedro Ferreira, who takes the viewer on a journey under the water.

Several of the glass artists of Kosta Boda and Orrefors have achieved great international success.

They are also some of the world’s most famous glass works of art.

The exhibition runs from June 30 to August 9 at NK, Nordiska Kompaniet, Hamngatan 18-29 in Stockholm.

  2nd GMS graduate this year

Just like Johanna Lennartson became GMS certified by ERC earlier this year, Lena Rekdal also engaged in the ERC Global Mobility Specialist training in June.  After 16 years in the DSP/Immigration field perhaps not a lot is a new revelation, nontheless the training was deemed structured and interesting. It will be an education that employees will be encouraged to engage in coming years as well.

It is a very smooth process! Thanks!”

“Great experience, especially compared to what co-workers who were re-located by my company, before we started using Newcomers, went through. Would definitely recommend.”

“Easy to deal with!”

Will have delays in the processing time of work permits as the union has declined to review the offer of employments during the summer. This means the responsibility has been transferred to the case officers at the migration board. There will not be any changes in the requirements however the scope of work is clearly increased for the migration board and hence you can expect that handling times to be longer until the fall. Starting September first the union will start again, however it’s likely to cause a backlog.

Best wishes for a delightful summer from the Newcomer’s Team!

Sincerely,

The Newcomer’s Relocation Team
