SMOOTH ARRIVAL – EASY LIVING – SWIFT DEPARTURE
Dear Friends,

After a fantastic summer it seems Christmas is almost here. What a year – again we have had more to do than ever. Lots of fun!

Why are we the preferred partner to so many companies? We belive it’s our continuous improvement program and the clear client focus. Without hidden agendas, alternate streams of revenue, we have proven to be a solid partner for companies, relocation management firms, law firms and landlords for 15 years. We don’t engage in non-customer oriented strategies of little benefit to the client company or individual, hence we are financially sound, well structured and will be there for you in the longterm. Clients with the same core values choose to work with Newcomer’s since we are straight shooters and terribly efficient.

Newcomer’s was of course represented at the ERC in Seattle in October and we are proud that Johanna Lennartson now has achieved the GMS Cerp qualification.

Sweden has a new government and the political climate is bustling, and undergoing major changes.

With best regards,
Lena Rekdal

Immigration compliance and time line

Not only Newcomer’s but also the migration service have been busier than ever this summer. While applications handed in during the spring and early summer were processed quickly, there’s a clear slow down in the processing times now. Good to remember for next year and do expect longer processing times now as well.
The migrationboard, unions, and the civic registration all want more information on the insurance coverage for the employees. Insufficient coverage will result in a denied application. What was OK in the spring is now in question. Good to think of when putting an application together. We will let you know what is needed before filing.

Staffing up again to meet demand

For the third round this year we are staffing up to meet our customer demands. With that comes training and focusing yet again on our core values and structure. We are working with our manual consistently. We are always using technology to improve our services, response time and collection of data.

Recent achievements

Waldemars Udde

Anders Zorn is one of the most famous Swedish artist who has amongst other achievements painted three US presidents. The exhibit is on until January 23, 2011 and is truly amazing. Don’t miss it, for more info www.waldemarsudde.se or go to Prins Eugens väg 6, Djurgården

Christmas smorgasbord

Recent arrival are in for a treat. Already the Swedish restaurants are offering traditional Christmas smorgasbord.  All the traditional goodies are served, a normal selection will have cold fish, cold meat, some warm dishes, and desserts. Some of these such as smoked eel are challenging unless you have grown accustomed to it. For Swedes it’s one of the highlights of the year.

Best wishes for a nice autumn from the

 Multicultural mosaic

Montréalers are proud of their multicultural city with over 3.7 million people who come from over 120 different cultural communities. 63% of the population is francophone.

Amazing standard of living
Montréal has such a high level of quality of life. It is a safe city that has low cost of living, affordable housing and 4 major universities.

A wonderful place for foodies
Montréal is considered one of the gastronomical capitals of the world, as acknowledged by Food & Wine magazine. We also have fabulous cooking.

Outdoor fun all year long
Montréal has public beaches, hundreds of indoor/outdoor pools, several hundred kilometres of bike paths and an abundance of parks and green spaces. There are dozens of ski centers as close as 30 minutes from the city.

Kindness and hospitality are the norm

Montréalers are well known for assisting lost tourists, offering their seats to elders and befriending newcomers to the city.
