Dear Friends,

Having landed after a fantastic conference in sunny Palma I want to extend a warm thank you to Tad & Dom and the EuRA council for a fantastic event!

What does this have to do with me you wonder. Well it will affect you and your employees/clients in the upcoming years. Every year after the EuRA conference we come back full of energy and with loads of new ideas that will make our client’s lives easier. We go to work straight away to implement the new ideas. The EuRA Quality Seal structure keeps us on track with the tasks and deadlines that benefit all our clients.

The icing of the cake that the next EuRA meeting will be in Stockholm in 2012 and we are thrilled to welcome our clients, partners and friends to our hometown.

Johanna Lennartson will attend the Totally Expat show in London on May 16th so if you want to meet her, drop her an email or me for a meeting in Amsterdam at the ERC conference in June. London will be visited again for several days in early June.

Don’t hesitate contacting us for any query in regards to relocation or immigration in or outbound of Sweden.

With best regards,
Lena Rekdal

Immigration changes will be challenging for companies with tight deadlines for projects!

FormulärWe have put a new process into place in order to cut down any unnecessary delays due to this change. We will have to see on a country by country basis how it will work in reality. Trust that we are in tune with the changes and working around them as best we can.

EuRA conference Stockholm 2012

Arlanda expressFirst things first! When you arrive at Arlanda airport you can choose several means of transportation to the city.

1. Arlanda Express – fast train – follow the signs, tickets can be bought in the terminal. It takes 19 minutes and will bring you almost directly to the conference hotel. Price weekdays 240 SEK one way, 460 SEK roundtrip.

2. Arlanda Buses – striped buses that will take approx. 40 minutes to the city, several stops, get off at the last one, also very close to the conference hotel. Get a ticket inside the terminal. Price oneway 99 SEK, Roundtrip 199 SEK.

3. Taxi – there’s a taxistand right outside the terminal, there are Taxi hosts that are there to prevent you from paying too much. A normal fare is approx 600 SEK, ie 60 Euros.

Sweden Ranks 1st in intellectual capital

Stockholm is the world’s top city for intellectual capital and innovations, according to a new report by consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Stockholm is being describes as “a busy regional hub with a low-density lifestyle” with world leading competitiveness in a number of fields.

“Stockholm ranks first in intellectual capital and innovation; health, safety and security; and, remarkably, demographics and livability, which includes the thermal comfort variable that quantifies the idea that more temperate and consistent climes are more attractive”, PricewaterhouseCoopers wrote in the report.

We are thrilled to have this confimed as Stockholm is fantastic place to live and all our clients are very happy here. Many expats extend their stays more than once. One family upon repatriation left the family in Sweden while the person working commuted to Sweden on weekends rather bringing the family back home.

Don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries about relocation, immigration or Sweden.

Sincerely,

Sara Olsson, Editor at

Past and Present

Frankfurt was first mentioned in the 8th century AD. 45 emperors and kings have been crowned in Frankfurt’s city Hall “Roemer” since 856. Nowadays Frankfurt is a centre of finance, exhibition and trade.  680.000 inhabitants of whom every 4th speaks a foreign language. 50 Mio. passengers p.a. travel through Frankfurt Rhein-Main Airport. 680.000 inhabitants of whom every 4th speaks a foreign language.

Great choice of living

Frankfurt and its surroundings offer a wide range of living from art nouveau houses to modern feng-shui influenced apartments as well as cosy little places.

60 museums, 53 Galleries, more than 50 theatres, 45 cinemas,  80 music clubs, 2.300 restaurants, 450 sportsclubs are keeping us entertained and fit.

And on the weekends

you find yourself within… 10 minutes for a loin rib and Sauerkraut in the Applewine Quarter of Sachsenhausen, 20 Minutes for hiking and mountain biking in the Taunus mountains, 30 minutes for shopping in Wiesbaden, 40 minutes for wine tasting in the wine region “Rheingau”.

Sociability

Frankfurt is a place where you find bankers, tourists and native Frankfurters sitting on one table having one or two or…glasses of apple wine while having a splendid conversation. Language barriers and cultural differences do not exist.
